Barack and Michelle Obama: A Southside Love
February 14, 2018
We already know how cute they are together, so I’ll keep this short. It’s Valentine’s Day and y’all probably have cute things to do with whomever.
Barack and Michelle Obama met in the summer of 1989. Michelle Robinson, 25, was working at a law firm and was appointed the advisor to Barack Obama, a handsome 28-year-old summer associate. (I see you Michelle! Young and in charge!) They had several things in common—they were both attractive, black, Harvard Law graduates.
Even though Michelle was his mentor, Barack was in no way, shape, or form letting that stopping him from asking her out. By the end of their first date, Michelle was highly interested. And while Barack hated the corporate world, the man loved him some Michelle.
The two dated for three lovely years before tying the knot on October 3, 1992. They have two beautiful children together, Sasha and Malia.
The couple have had some super cute moments together in the public eye, from hand holding to kissing to fist bumps to dancing together to just raising great children. These two were an amazing black couple in the White House. The affection and love was and is real and not done for cameras.
So enjoy your day and appreciate your significant other (OR YOURSELF, YA FEEL?) the way Michelle and Barack appreciate each other every single day—with love, respect, and admiration.
It was a true pleasure to get a glimpse of their love for 8 years!
