Black History Month Day 2: Serena Williams

Black History Month Day 2: Serena Williams

February 2, 2017

Shoutout to all of you who made it through my day 1 post for Black History Month!
Serena Jameka Williams is a four-time Olympic gold medalist. She’s won 72 career singles titles, 23 doubles titles, and two mixed doubles titles. And, even with all of these accomplishments under her belt, Serena has been called a variety of racial slurs, she’s been criticized for her body, and she’s been picked on for her noise on the court.

But guess what? None of that hate is stopping this Black girl magic! Serena is the greatest tennis player of all time. Not African-American tennis player. Not female tennis player. (But her being Black and female are cherries on top.) Just the greatest tennis player of all time. Point blank period.
