Black History Month Day 13: Beyoncé
February 13, 2017
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is the daughter of Celestine "Tina" Beyincé-Lawson and Matthew Knowles. She is the sister to the gorgeous and talented Solange. She is the wife of Shawn "Jay Z" Carter. And, the mother of the already iconic Blue Ivy Carter.
From 1997-2001 this brilliant, talented, legendary woman was the head of Destiny's Child.
In 2002, the game changed–Beyoncé released her first solo single. Since, she's released four studio albums and two visual albums.
Bey's career has done nothing but flourish throughout the years but despite this success, *some* people like to refer to her as untalented and undeserving of the attention she receives. To put it simply, they're wrong.
When you're able to produce not only 2 albums with no leaking of any information or knowledge but also put out music videos for each song for one and an actual film for the other, you deserve all the attention you receive. AND ON TOP OF THAT DROP WORLD TOURS THAT PEOPLE DECIDED TO GO TO OVER PAYING RENT? You've got it.
You don't like her because she made music that wasn't for you? Cool. Trust, she doesn't need you. But don't EVER deny this woman's talent. Cause those vocals are very, very real.
Also, Lemonade should've won Album or the Year, even Adele believed she should have won. Like she said, 'what the f--- does Beyoncé have to do to win album of the year?'
But let's be honest, we all know the answer to that...
